What to do if your car shakes or stops in traffic
If you car shakes/stops in traffic, you may find that the idling is also below 500 revs which generally leads to the car stalling. A few tips based on previous discussions:
- Clean the throttle body
- Pour octane booster / fuel system cleaner into the tank when almost empty, then fill with fuel.
- Check / change your PCV Valve
- Check / change the O ring on your dip stick
- Check the quality of your spark plugs
- Check your fuel filter and pump
- Check / change your throttle body or IAC Valve
- Clean EGR valve
- Check / change the oxygen sensor
PS: Always start with the simplest solutions first.
